MAHMOOD, N.L.D.A. TOUR

Mahmood’s new tour is a standout, blending symbolic staging and layered visuals with high fashion. Here’s a closer look at his wardrobe, curated by stylist Ramona Tabita, which transforms each performance into a fashion statement featuring eight custom-made and archival outfits.

The show opens with a custom Prada look: a black poplin shirt detailed with crystal embroidery, a bold red faille tie, tailored wool-silk satin pants, and polished black leather shoes. His wardrobe also includes a rare piece from Jean Paul Gaultier Couture—from Mr. Gaultier’s final collection, with additional custom-made outfits by Willy Chavarria, Luis de Javier, Palomo Spain, T.C., and Isabel Marant.

Louboutin crafted seven footwear styles in five finishes: patent black, patent red, patent white, silver mirror, and calf glitter silver. Atelier Swarovski added more detail by creating custom accessories, from crystal-detailed durags and boxers to a matching blouse and balaclava. These pieces are made from Swarovski’s crystal mesh of 150,000 crystals. Even Mahmood’s microphone stand is custom-designed by Lichene x Angostura.

Under Type-Ten’s creative direction, the tour adopts a “theatrical rave” atmosphere, using black, red, and metal elements with electric columns and a moving piano inspired by the movie Ghost in the Shell. This setup merges Mahmood’s European club-inspired universe with a cyberpunk edge, while paying homage to his Egyptian heritage through a central pyramid structure illuminated by 300 lights and lasers, designed by Douglas Green. Equally central is Carlos Diaz Gandia’s choreography, which brings each of the 21 songs to life, reflecting Mahmood’s artistic journey and cultural references. Following sold-out shows in Milan, Rome, and Naples, the tour will expand in May with five additional dates.

Recently nominated for Best Italian Act at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards, set for November 10 in Manchester, Mahmood’s tour confirms his place as one of Italy’s most comple artists.
